Reaction Engines Ltd was created to design and develop advanced space transport and propulsion systems. By applying a combination of established physical principles and innovative engineering design, we intend to develop a range of products that will enable the commercial exploitation of space.

Reaction Engines Ltd was founded in 1989 by:

• Alan Bond - Managing Director and Chief Technical Analyst
• Richard Varvill - Technical Director and Chief Designer
• John Scott-Scott - Engineering Director and Chief Development Engineer

These three engineers have 85 combined man-years of technical management experience in the high technology aerospace and nuclear industries.

Two further directors joined Reaction Engines Ltd in 2008:

• Dr. Robert Bond – Corporate Programmes Director
• Mark Hempsell – Future Programmes Director

In addition there are currently two non-executive directors:

• Anthony Evans - Corporate Strategy
• Dr John Garrod - Business Development

Reaction Engines Ltd is located at the Culham Science Centre in Oxfordshire where it has its main offices and heat exchanger research facility. The company also has several other manufacturing and test premises in the area.
