Shaun Driscoll will be participating in a panel discussion with various experts in space transportaion titled "When Air Meets Space: Outlining the Potential of Spaceliners for New End-User Industries".
Across the globe, various developments are taking place regarding the development of space ports and different types of launch systems. Examples include horizontal take-off for satellite launchers, as well as the proposals for and opening of spaceports in new locations across the globe including the UK, Italy and Germany. As technology for materials, propulsion systems and components develop and innovation continues to take place, space and aeronautics come closer together.
In this closing panel, experts on new types of (space) transportation discuss technology and industry requirements:
- The technology challenges for the implementation of new space vehicles: from launch system design through to spaceports
- The future end-user verticals to target: rapid passenger transportation, suborbital tourism and rapid access to scientific research in microgravity
- How to sustain a business case for this new segment in the space industry
