To build the world’s most powerful cooling systems, we’ve invested the most advanced manufacturing technology. With precision machining, metal fabrication and welding and high specification vacuum brazing and electroforming facilities available in-house, we’ve developed a suite of state-of-the-art materials and manufacturing solutions.

Our in-house materials technologists have decades of experience solving challenges in aerospace, high energy physics and energy. They are able to work with our clients to develop solutions for manufacturing challenges, as well as producing high-quality, rapid turnaround batch and repeat work.

Equipped with the latest Hurco 5 axis CNC machining and Sodick CNC EDM wire erosion hardware,  our team are experienced in working in a wide variety of materials including novel alloys and ceramics. Quality is ensured by state-of-the-art Zeiss CMM part inspection and ISO 9001 quality management.

Having Precision Engineering and Advanced manufacturing facilities together in our group means we can tackle a wide range of engineering challenges for our customers.

A commitment to quality

In recognition of this, in 2015 Reaction Engines was awarded OxLEP funding to expand our quality assurance department at our Didcot facility. Along with employing a new team of quality assurance specialists, we invested in the latest state of the art CMM technology with a fully tailored ACCURA bridge type CMM solution from ZEISS, integrated with customised CALYPSO software.

What’s more, every component we manufacture comes with an accompanying inspection report, signed off by our CMM inspector, together with all relevant accompanying documentation that ensures the project meets customer requirements on accuracy, conformance and material spec sheets. This ensures we are well positioned to meet our clients’ future needs for increasing documentation and traceability.
